MP 285 - 305. started hiking yesterday before the sun was up. Had in mind to make some serious miles. at mid-day i came to a beautiful grove of ponderosa pine on holcomb creek. stopped for a short break, fell asleep and didnt wake up til midafternoon. hurried along to deep creek canyon and sstill managed to get in 20 miles. had to scramble down about 250 foot embankment to get to a beautiful spot sheltered by cottonwood trees next to a deep pool where i camped under the stars.
